![]() The magnificent scent and heat of our seasoned hard wood fire and fresh seaweed is the key to the remarkable flavoring of our tender native lobsters, succulent clams and island grown corn-on-the-cob. We use our "sealed package" method to gently steam (never boil!) the lobsters, clams and corn, in an above-ground pit. This method allows the key elements of the Clambake, or also known as a Lobsterbake, to all cook together to produce an unforgettable dining experience. A lobster cooked this way is unlike any other lobster you've ever tasted! Our traditional Clambake Menu includes: ~ Steamed Native Menemsha Lobsters Soft-Shelled Clams, Smoky Barbecued or Herb-roasted Chicken Morning Glory Farm Corn-on-the-cob Oven Roasted Potatoes and Onions Mustardy Summer Slaw Savory Country Corn Bread Drawn Sweet Butter ~ Fresh Lemons ~ Clambake Broth ~ Fresh Watermelon Mixed Berry Shortcake with Lemon Whipped Cream ~ Coffee or Lemonade We can compliment this menu or substitute other items for non-seafood eaters such as marinated, grilled New York Strip Sirloin, Portuguese Linguica, other salads and desserts. See our Sample Menu page for hot and cold Hors d'oeuvres and other menu ideas. Depending on what type of function you are planning - a wedding, rehearsal dinner, day-after wedding, corporate event, fund-raiser or family reunion, we can be as casual or formal as you would like to be. We use either paper products including heavy duty plastic fish platters, plastic ware, paper napkins and plastic cups or we work with Island rental companies and order glass fish plates, silverware, glassware, table linens and an assortment of other items, depending on your needs and requirements. The clambake is served buffet style and our staff decorates accordingly using greens, flowers, fabrics and interesting serving platters and tools depending on the time of year and what's available to us. Our staff is available to assist those in need of learning how to open and eat the lobster as well as emptying the discard bowls and passing out our cotton bibs and warm lemon scented towels at the end of the meal. To experience a Lobster Tales clambake is to experience a classic Vineyard experience, a tradition which dates back to when the Wampanoag Indians inhabited the island. We have taken the same key elements that they used thousands of years ago and added a few modern touches. We have served the President of the United States, Congressmen & women, actors and actresses, entertainers, business and academic leaders, brides and grooms and people from all areas of the world, and the reaction that they have all had is the same, "What an unusual and creative set up", "What a friendly and attentive staff", and "What fabulous great tasting food". We're sure that you will enjoy the entire clambake experience as much as we do.
